Searching For Murrieta Myofascial Release?

Murrieta Myofascial release therapy for pain relief and improved function.

Have you been told that myofascial release could be helpful for a specific issue you're dealing with?

At Release Muscle Therapy, I take a full body approach that aims to address more than JUST the area where the pain is experienced.  More often than not, the painful area is not the primary cause, but instead the area that is exhausted and "had enough".

Uncovering and resolving muscle tension and joint restriction patterns in your body gets at the underlying cause of the recurring pain.

This is why every new client starts with a full evaluation to locate these critical areas and why Release Muscle Therapy has an outstanding track record of high quality results and reviews.

So, if you're looking for this type of service, I can help you.

What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial release is a sub-specialty massage technique that aims to target fascial restrictions in the tissues that are often associated to pain and lack of mobility.

These techniques can start at the skin level, felt as a "skin stretching", which results in modulation of the dermal nerves and alters how your nervous system interprets the information coming from those tissues.

The effect is often relief of pain, and restoration of normal function of the tissues. Myofascial release techniques can also target deeper tissues, but may not be necessary depending on the goal of the therapy.

Is Trigger Point Therapy the same thing as Myofascial Massage?

Myofascial therapy is often associated with trigger point therapy and these can both be applied in the same massage therapy session.

Trigger points are localized tender areas found within the tissues that have increased sensitivity to manual stimulation.  Research has not conclusively shown trigger points to be directly related to chronic pain, and therefore the resolution of them may not be needed for results.

In my experience, the application of many different techniques, including myofascial release, can reduce trigger point sensitivity and is likely part of the process of restoring optimal health and function to soft tissues.

What can Myofascial Techniques Help With?

Murrieta myofascial release therapy can be helpful for a wide range of chronic ailments as an adjunct to appropriate health care.

Here are a few areas:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • TMJ (temporomandibular dysfunction)
  • Shoulder pain
  • Tennis elbow
  • Golfers elbow
  • Knee pain or patellar tendinitis
  • Ankle or foot pain
  • Plantar faciitis

It is important to stress that myofascial release massage must fit within a larger therapeutic strategy, involving lifestyle factors, as well as a corrective movement strategy to restore optimal endurance, strength and activity to the whole body.

What Does A Myofascial Release Session Look Like?

After completing a full initial evaluation (to determine the potential root cause/s of your issues), hands-on techniques will be applied to the areas that will benefit from them the most.

Not EVERYONE needs myofascial release techniques.  We may find during  your initial eval that movement-based therapy may be much for valuable for your individual needs.

However, if myofascial release and trigger point therapy is indicated, then the appropriate tools will be selected (hands, percussion massager, IASTM tools, etc) and applied directly to the area.  Most of the time, it's only necessary to remove clothing in the direct area to be able to access the tissues.

Once the therapy is completed and the tissues appropriately released, follow up techniques are employed to "condition" the tissues and promote normalization of the newly acquired range of motion.

This often involves a combination of stretching and/or muscle activation techniques.
