Hypnosis For IBS And SIBO Can Change Your Life
Does Hypnotherapy Work?
Yes, there is a great deal of research that hypnosis can be effective by itself as an approach for dealing with issues such as stress, anxiety, and even pain control. It is more effective, however, when part of an overall integrative model of care for more complex health challenges.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis is a natural and common experience we all have throughout our days, but we don’t notice it. It often shows up as a state of strong internal focus, being fully engaged in a movie or TV show, or even when we are fully relaxed and drifting off to sleep.
When we are fully immersed in an experience, we tend to focus much less on other things. This is very similar to what you will feel in a hypnosis session.
Can you cure IBS with hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is not a “cure” for any disease or condition. Research and experience has shown this tool to be very helpful as part of an overall therapeutic approach to working with chronic health conditions.
Irritable bowel syndrome and SIBO are two related issues which share some common contributing factors. Symptoms can be triggered by various stress responses, such as anxiety, fear, or just daily accumulation of life stressors. Hypnosis aims to teach you how to control your response to these stressful triggers and alleviate symptoms.
What is gut directed hypnotherapy?
Gut directed hypnosis is focused specifically on the communication between the gut and the brain to reduce stress triggers and reduce symptoms associated with gastrointestinal dysfunction.
What is the difference between this and using an app?
While hypnotherapy apps can be useful generally speaking, they cannot replace the specificity of working with a qualified hypnotherapist on your unique situation.
Apps provide a more “cookie cutter” approach, which can work for some people, but not others.
How long does it take to work?
On average, most participants will notice the strongest improvements in symptoms within 6-8 visits. Some improve faster, and others take a bit longer.
What Others Have To Say
My Philosophy On Hypnotherapy
In 20 years of working with individuals dealing with chronic pain, I have been able to help many people reach relief with techniques derived directly from my hypnosis learnings.
Gut directed hypnotherapy for SIBO and IBS is an excellent addition many therapeutic modalities and especially for individuals not only dealing with chronic pain, but also underlying inflammatory conditions such as IBS, and SIBO that are vulnerable to the effects of stress.
I earned my Diploma in hypnotherapy through the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI) in Los Angeles, with additional certification in pain management through the American Hypnosis Association.
